Welcome to Smarter Admins, Australia’s premiere blog for Australian office administrative professionals (i.e. secretaries, EAs (executive assistants), PAs (personal assistants), office managers and everything in between!).
Smarter Admins began in July 2011 and is published by me, Rah Gardiner. I’m so excited about this project, it brings together two things I’m very passionate about – office administration and blogging.

Hi there, I’m Rah and I’m the face behind Smarter Admins. I currently work full-time as a Personal Assistant, but I have also been a Secretary, Customer Service Assistant, Receptionist, Office Coordinator, Editorial Assistant and Administrator. I started full-time work over 15 years ago—before I even started my HSC exams—in a customer service role—and I haven’t looked back. I was a graduate of the Training in Retail and Commerce (TRAC) vocational educational program in my final two years of high school and my working life has been very much inspired by my older sister who also also works in admin.
I have been blogging for about seven years and designed my first web site in 1999.
This is the most exciting web project I have been involved in and my first big solo project — I hope you can join me on the journey!
